Jet fuel prices will be cut from 5,050 yuan to 4,770 yuan per ton, said the National Development and Reform Commission in a statement on July 30. Based on surveys from several airlines, the fuel surcharge wouldn't see a recurrence in the short term, according to a journalist from the Beijing Times.

On Jan. 4 this year, the government called off the fuel surcharge airlines levied on passengers five months ago when oil prices eased.
